Since its establishment in 1927, the Whitehorse Art Collection has developed around a core of Australian Impressionist works by famous painters from the nineteenth century artists’ camp at Box Hill.
Significant works by Frederick McCubbin, Arthur Streeton and Tom Roberts – together with their teacher Louis Buvelot and contemporary E. Phillips Fox – will be displayed alongside paintings by artists from following generations, including women who studied under these recognised ‘Fathers of Australian Painting’.
