Artists' Park is an award winning park near a weekend campsite used by the early Australian impressionist painters spearheaded by Tom Roberts and Frederick McCubbin.
The assembled group of painters became known as the Box Hill Camp artists and went on to play a vital role in the development of Australian art.
Council has dedicated an area of parkland with two playgrounds in recognition of the significance of the site.
Located behind the Box Hill South Neighbourhood House, the playground has an artistic theme and the park is the perfect location for a picnic.
