Artists in Schools

Bring the arts to life at your school by applying for funding from the Artists in Schools program.

Schools within the City of Whitehorse are eligible for funding to hire an artist to work on an onsite art project, encompassing a visual, performance, music, literature or design focus.

The program is funded by the Whitehorse City Council and covers the full cost of hiring the artist (but not including the cost of materials).

Applications open early each year and successful applicants are awarded the funding for the following financial year.

Past projects include felt-making, ceramic and mosaic works, sculpture, metalwork, circus skills and children’s book illustrations.

For more information about the Artists in Schools Program, email the Senior Arts Officer at artspace@whitehorse.vic.gov.au or phone 03 9262 6250.

Applications are currently closed for 2020.
